COVID-19 Response Inquiry Submission

In December 2023, MIAL made its submission following the Prime Minister the Hon Anthony Albanese MP announcing earlier in September that an independent inquiry into Australia’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic would be established.

MIAL’s submission was made from the perspective of the maritime industry and the measures taken by the Federal Government in response to the COVID 19 pandemic, including the impact on Australian maritime businesses. It also canvassed the effect on the international maritime industry as critical to the economic prosperity of Australia given the high reliance on shipping and other maritime activities to the nation.
