Course content:
Focus areas for Introduction to Domestic Commercial Vessels are:
- Types of vessels and their operations
- DCV regulatory framework
- Crewing requirements and competency certificates
- The role of AMSA as the industry’s regulator
This course may especially benefit:
- new entrants into the domestic maritime sector
- policy makers from state federal and local governments
- staff that require general knowledge of Australia’s domestic maritime sector
Our scheduled courses include a popular experiential learning component that allows participants to experience the industry first-hand. Previous experiences include on-water port tours in Melbourne and Sydney, a tour of the new Spirit of Tasmania vessel in Geelong, and the Smartship Australia simulator in Brisbane.
Course participants will receive a certificate upon completion.
Catering
The course is fully catered for with morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea. Please advise of any dietary requirements at time of booking.
Experiential component
An offsite shipping-related tour will form part of the course to put concepts highlighted during the day into action. Transfers will be provided to and from the tour.

- Participants may be required to sign an indemnity in order to participate in the offsite shipping-related tour.
- This is an in-person event and numbers may be restricted to provide the best possible experience for attendees
